Guide to Bodyweight Muscle Building:
Learn how to build muscle WITHOUT a gym membership
Running on the treadmill is an old method to losing fat. The key to really losing fat is something know as interval training. And with this method, you do not need to join a gym or purchase expensive equipment. You can do it in your backyard, front yard, bedroom, or garage!
Interval training is basically alternating between high and low intensity bursts of training. Most people perform interval sprints. This is where you sprint all out for 30 seconds, then rest for another 30-60 seconds. Keep doing this for 10-20 minutes, and you have a great fat burning workout.
I know what you’re thinking – “I can do my cardio at home, but what about weight training?” Weight training is a very crucial aspect to fat loss. You can perform weight training in the comfort of your own home as well!
All you need is your bodyweight and a set of dumbbells. If you combine this kind of training with interval training, then you can effectively lose fat and build muscle at the same time. I personally no longer go to the gym.
Whats more, if you organize your bodyweight and dumbbell exercises into supersets or circuits, then you effectively create workouts that feel like cardio. Cardio is more or less just elevating your heart rate. If you’re working hard, then you’re boosting your metabolic rate.
The higher the metabolic rate, the more fat you’ll burn, since your metabolism is what helps you burn calories while at rest.
