Home Fitness Review: The Ultimate Guide to Home Fitness Products

So you’ve decided to start training at home. Now what should you do? Spend a lot of money on equipment, or invest some money on eBooks? Well, before you can answer this question, you need to really think about why you’re working out at home.
Is it because….
- You can no longer afford your gym membership
- You like the convenience of working out at home
- You no longer have time to drive down to the gym
Most people believe that if they don’t have time to go to the gym, they need to buy an expensive home gym. This is not true. You can get in shape in the comfort of your own home with dumbbells and bodyweight exercises.
I have uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors who’ve purchased large, fancy, infomercial products that just collect dust in their basements. You do not need equipment such as thetread mil or bow flex to get a great workout.
And if you wish to save money, without wasting countless hours on trying to figure out how exactly to workout at home with limited equipment, then my suggestion is to invest in some good guides. Namely, ebooks.
Ebooks offer something completely unique that most products do not – their electronic and can be delivered to you in seconds. You can also print parts of them out for easy reference. I personally purchase at least 1-2 fitnessebooks per month.
This is because I’m a fitness enthusiast and am always on the look out for some new technique or creative idea that will take my workouts to the next level. I stopped reading magazines a long time ago because they just keep coming out with the same old, boring information.
How to Choose the Right Workout

Choosing the right home fitness workout is tough these days, especially with all the fitness programs out on the market these days. Here are some simple tips you can use to determine whether or not a home fitness workout is right for you:
- What Kind of Equipment do you Have/Can Afford? – This is the first question you should ask yourself. Regardless of your reasons for working out at home, you need to determine what your budget is and exactly how much money, if any, you are willing to spend to improve your fitness levels.
- Will you be Training at Home, or in a Hotel Room? – If you’re someone who travels a lot, perhaps purchasing a set of dumbbells is not the best choice. Certainly, purchasing a full multi-gym station would be completely useless.
- How much Time do you Have to Workout? – Another very important question to ask yourself is how much time do you have, or are willing to spend to actually workout. You can find programs that require up to 5 hours of time commitment per week, or ones that require no more than an hour.
- Do you want to be Challenged, or Just go through the Motions? – Some people enjoy slow, easy cardio so they can watch their favorite TV show or talk with their friends while they workout. I personally want to be challenged and don’t want any other outside distractions.
- How Fast do you Want Results? - I personally am wary of any program which promises “30lbs in 30 days.” But within a reasonable ball park, how fast do you want/need results? If you’re getting ready for a big public event, you may just need an extremely high intensity program.
The following are reviews of some of my favorite home fitness programs:
A Review of Gladiator Body Workout

Gladiator Body Workout (GBW) is a home fitness program developed by Coach Eddie Lomax which effectively combines bodyweight and dumbbell training. Bodyweight training allows you to burn fat and improve strength endurance, while Dumbbells are ideal for mass and strength gain.
What separates GBW from other fitness eBooks is that it is one of the only programs which truly teaches you how to workout with minimal equipment in the comfort of your own home. Whats more, the workouts are fast, intense, and very effective.
I enjoy Coach Lomax’s “Anti-Bodybuilding” approach to training. I personally worked out in a commercial gym for 6 months using the workouts I found from bodybuilding magazines. I did get big, but I also became fatter.
Traditional bodybuilding workouts only work for bodybuilders. They make the rest of us fat and slow. On top of that, they are extremely boring. In my quest to become a better athlete, I decided to download CoachLomax’s eBook and was literally impressed by the content.
GBW include 27 different programs which last 4 weeks each. Each and every workout is unique and focuses on a different aspect to training. You have the basic general fitness, fat loss, andstrength & size workouts.
Coach Lomax also incorporates 3 other high intensity workouts including “Rounds of Fury” “Juggernaut” and “Utterly Nasty Interval Training” workouts. This is by far the most content I have ever seen anyone give away at such a low price.
On top of all this content, Coach Lomax also gives you a special “Build Your Own” Workout which shows you how to create your own high intensity in home workouts. I truly believe that this is one of the most unique, no-nonsense home fitness products on the market today.
5 Reasons Why I Like Gladiator Body Workout:
- All the workouts are high-intensity, which means you’re guaranteed to boost your metabolic rate and in turn burn a lot of fat. There’s no room for boring strength workouts or cardio with this program. In fact, CoachLomax is somewhat “Anti-Bodybuilding.”
- As mentioned in the first point, there’s no boring, steady state cardio to perform. When you combine bodyweight and dumbbell training, you get the effect of cardiovascular training. These workouts will really make your heart rate go crazy.
- All the workouts can be performed with only your bodyweight and a dumbbell. Dumbbells can be purchased for cheap from Craigslist or eBay. The average price of dumbbells at your local sports equipment store is about .50 cents per pound.
- High intensity workouts means that you can perform them within a short period of time. I love short, intense workouts. Short workouts will save you a lot of time and you’ll find yourself spending less time working out, but getting better results than if you were to go to the gym and follow a typical bodybuilding workout.
- Finally, the workouts are fun and challenging. The key to really taking your training to the next level is keep using different intensity techniques, and that is exactly what CoachLomax does with this program.

A Review of Superior Dumbbell Workout

The Superior Dumbbell Workout is a program developed by Coach Eddie Lomax which uses primarily Dumbbells as the training tools. This is one of the best “anti-bodybuilding” dumbbell training guides out there.
Most dumbbell training guides out there feature the same old boring workouts. However, Coach Lomax mixes it up with a variety of unique exercises such as dumbbell swings, snatches, and cleans. These are exercises you will not see in most dumbbell fitness guides.
Besides the unique exercises, it is the structure of the program that is truly unique. Coach Lomax takes you through three phases of training. The three phases of the program consists of:
- Grinding Slow Lift Supersets
- Explosive Quick Lift Timed Circuits
- Slow & Quick Peripheral Heart Action
- Dumbbell Combo Matrixes
Each phase incorporates more difficult exercises, each time shocking your body into new levels of fitness. Each workout is followed for 4 weeks before moving onto the next workout. So 4 workouts, performed for 4 weeks each, 3 phases is equal to 48 weeks of training!
So lets get onto the real review part. I needed to tell you what the workouts incorporated to illustrate to you how much variety there is in this program. There are really just two ways to progress with any training program: Difficult Exercises and Intensity Techniques.
The more exercises you know how perform, and the more intensity techniques you incorporate in your training, the fitter you will become. Most of the training techniques taught out on the market are bodybuilding related.
However, there is absolutely no one out there teaching athletic and functional fitness training techniques and exercises the way CoachLomax is. This is truly a unique Dumbbell fitness guide. There is no time for boring isolation work in Coach Lomax’s programs.

A Review of Workout Without Weights

Workout Without Weights (WWW) is a bodyweight training eBook by Coach Eddie Lomax. Coach Lomax has authored 5 other home fitness eBooks. However, if you’re looking for a guide to bodyweight training, then WWW may be the guide for you.
When I first purchased WWW, I really didn’t know what to expect. After all, it was my first eBook purchase ever. Before that I was very sceptical of online sales. I thought people were going to steal my information and that I would be scammed.
Well, there was no scam and no one stole anything. I started reading Coach Lomax’s eBook with great interest. WWW is very basic and to the point. I have since purchased many eBooks and you can say I’m somewhat of an eBook addict.
I’m always on the lookout for new tips and tricks that can help improve my health and fitness, and so I purchase at least one eBook a month. But, nothing that I have purchase from any other author has given me no-bull bodyweight training information like CoachLomax.
Not only did I learn a variety of brand new exercises which I couldn’t find on YouTube, but I also learned how to create my own workouts. You will not need another bodyweight training eBook because most eBooks just give you handful of workouts and make you come back for more.
Not with WWW. Coach Lomax will show you how to easily create high intensity bodyweight workouts so you’ll never need another guide again (unless you’re like me who just can’t stop buying stuff online. But that’s for another article).
